If you don't want to purchase a container from us, feel free to bring in your own container to fill! We also have donated containers in our store that customers are welcome to use. And we accept clean, used containers. So consider donating to us, versus throwing your containers away!

When using your own container, it’s important to properly clean and sanitize the container between uses. Once you have washed your container, follow the below steps to properly sanitize it.

To sterilize glass and metal containers and lids:

Glass and metal containers can be sanitized in a dishwasher with a sanitize setting. You can also utilize a UV light to ensure your containers are fully sanitized.

Another option is to submerge the containers in a large pot of hot water and bring to a boil. Boil for about 15 minutes. Remove from water with clean and sterilized tongs. Allow to air dry completely before use.

To sterilize plastic containers and lids:

Plastic containers can be sanitized in a dishwasher with a sanitize setting. You can also utilize a UV light to ensure your containers are fully sanitized.

Another option is to soak the containers in hydrogen peroxide (3%) for about 10-15 minutes, give them a quick rinse and leave them out to dry in a clean environment. Or, spray with isopropyl alcohol (70%) and leave to air dry in a clean environment.
